agreement with Caterpillar for seven provinces in Shunde, Guangdong, on
19 Mar 2009. As a consequence, CEL changed from one of five dealers
into eight of 27 dealers of Caterpillar in PRC, including Hong Kong and
Macau.
These individual agreements were signed by
Mr Robert Charter (Vice President, Caterpillar Asia Pte Limited), Mr
Raymond Chan (General Manager, Caterpillar China Region APDSD),
Mr Scott Cameron (Executive Vice President,
Sime Darby Industrial), and Mr Jeffri Davidson (Managing Director, China
Engineers). Witnessing the signing ceremony were Mr Jim Owens (Chairman
& CEO, Caterpillar Inc), Mr Richard Lavin (Group President, Caterpillar
Inc), Tun Musa Hitam (Chairman, Sime Darby Berhad) and Dato’ Seri
Zubir (Group President / Group Chief Executive, Sime Darby Berhad).
In conjunction with the Provincial Dealership
Signing Ceremony, a foundation stone laying ceremony for Shunde New Service
Centre was also held and officiated by Mr. Jim Owens and Tun Musa Hitam.
This RMB 25 million new service centre is a 4-storey complex, adjacent
to the present facility.
It will have: -

- No. of Service Bays : 14 (6 x Machine ;
8 x Engine)
- SOS Lab
- 1500 hp Dynamometer
- 1800 kW Load Bank
- Machine & Engine Certified Rebuild
- Hydraulic Component Rebuild
- Machining Work
The target completion date of the new Shunde
Service Center is Dec 2009.
