China Engineers was the proud host for the

first time, the Provincial General Managers from China and the Regional
Managers from India attended.

and Chief Executive Officer, Doug Oberhelman. Many of the senior Caterpillar
management team including Group Presidents, Stu Levenick and Rich Lavin

Darby, Dato’ Mohd Bakke Salleh also graced the event.
During the meeting, Caterpillar executives
explained to us their plans for our region including the expansion of the
HEX manufacturing plants in China to ensure a significantly increased supply
of machines for the ever growing China market going forward.
The theme of the meeting was “Walking In
Our Customers’ Shoes”. CEL’s Managing Directors said that, “the theme
was very appropriate – we need to really understand the customers’ business
and need to ensure that we are providing them with the product and service
that they truly appreciate.”
Mr Hu Kaijang, the General Manager for Shenhua
Xinjiang, also gave a presentation, which was very well received by the
delegates, on the coal mining industry in Xinjiang and what large customers
